Membership and Mailing

Occasionally the AHSAA receives an inquiry about purchasing a lifetime membership. It is our opinion that in order to offer such a membership, we would need to have a somewhat definite idea of the life of the AHSAA.

The Ames High School Alumni Association is eleven years old and is run strictly by volunteers. Three of these volunteers -- Jack Smalling `58, Connie (Martin) Vaclav `76, and I (honorary) have been a part of the AHSAA since its origin in 1990. John Timmons `64 has joined us recently. Several others played significant roles at various times, but they are no longer involved. If the four of us -- all current officers -- should attend our national convention (providing one does exist) and our plane should land considerably ahead of schedule -- the AHSAA may no longer exist. So it is our intent to continue to offer just one, two and three-year memberships at our current bargain prices. We do appreciate your memberships and financial support.

Every Ames High School graduate, for whom we have a current address, receives the first newsletter of each calendar year. Only graduates with paid up memberships receive the rest (usually two more) for the year. If you are not a member and enjoy the one newsletter that you receive free, please consider sending in your membership fee. Whether or not you join, you will continue to receive the first newsletter each year, because that is the method we use to keep your address updated. This, in return, allows us to assist the various classes with their reunions. Thanks for reading! Ames Hi, Aims High!

AHSAA Secretary
