6/11...I have just read the summer edition of the Alumni Newsletter. Sorry I did not think to get information to you regarding a gathering of the class of 1940--our 65th anniversary!

There was about 13 of us gathering in Albuquerque, NM October 6-9 to celebrate our durability and enthusiasm for our Ames High heritage....This is the date for the International Balloon Fiesta and we will enjoy some good southwestern hospitality!

AHS class of 1985 20 Year reunion!!

Ames High Class of 1985 20 Year Reunion was held the weekend of July 8-10, 2005. The plans are for an informal get-together at the Ole Main Brewery on Main Street on Friday night, a golf outing at the Coldwater Golf Links on South 16th Street on Saturday morning, a dinner and reception at the Coldwater outdoor golf pavilion on Saturday night and a family picnic at Moore Memorial Park on Sunday.

We have setup a Yahoo Group called AmesHigh1985. Several folks have now signed up and we would like to get everyone subscribed to this. It is a great way to keep up to date, share pictures, etc. We hope that this group continues on past the reunion, and will allow everyone to stay in touch continually (instead of every 10 years!). Golf Outing!
We are forming 4-person teams to have fun in a best shot golf tourney on Saturday. A best shot tourney means that you only use the best shot of the group, and the entire 4-some will hit their next shot from that same location. The group will continue to use only the best shot all the way down the fairway and on the green. This means that you only need one of the group to get off a decent shot each time – so the odds are with you! So even if you cannot golf, come join the fun! There will be prizes of all kinds – even for the teams that did not do so well! So sign up and “volunteer” 3 of your old classmates, spouses, etc and let us know! Roosevelt birthday last updated 3/21/2005

Roosevelt Elementary School 80 Year Birthday was held on February 25, 2005

Roosevelt Elementary School in Ames is celebrating its 80th birthday.

To celebrate 80 years of history, the school is in search of former students and staff to share their stories and copies of photographs from Roosevelt days. All of the information collected will be made into a scrapbook for many generations to enjoy.

Alumni will also be invited to speak at a special assembly and birthday party on February 25, 2005.
